so far I don't know enough to give your specific advise, but maybe
it helps you to read from https://userbase.kde.org/Akonadi
and https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Akonadi/
You could check into akonadiconsole to see the inner workings.
(But be careful to now change anything.)
