No, my mail folders are totally screwed (KDE PIM three different updates
screwed things up three times over recent years, back to 2013). Currently mail
is stored in some sort of Akonadi cache directory (numbered folders) rather
than where it is supposed to go.
As far as I can remember, all three deleted folders were "inbox for xxx
account" (I have numerous POP3 mail accounts, each with own inbox. All mail is
POP3, no IMAP)
Of course, right after posting my above message, mail started arriving and
landing in the usual folder, and what's more, at least one filter (that was
been broken on automatic, but working on manual), started working
automatically ...
And this is while KDE was running ... I did restart Kmail after things looked
odd but last software updates were yesterday, so don't know if some library in
memory got reloaded or what .... and behaviour is suddenly different. Or if
Akonadi now has some sort of "heal myself" mode running slowly in the
background.
I've given up trying to understand what Kmail/Akonadi does ... :-)
Thanks, Ian
