[kdepim-users] deleting messages from gmail account

Hi,

I wonder if anyone else noticed the following, and if the source of the issue has been identified (if not fixed)?

Deleting ("move to wastebin") a message from a gmail/imap account while a message is being sent does not work properly. Instead of being moved to the account's own "Bin" folder (as configured), the message is moved to the wastebin in the "Local Folders". Worse, a "ghost" message remains in the original folder on the gmail server that behaves like a regular message in every way (including counting towards the unread mail count if it's marked unread) except that you cannot select it. The only way to get rid of that ghost is through the gmail web interface or through another email client.

I have just tried but didn't succeed in reproducing this with a (more) standard imap account. I fail to see though how this could be an issue that is purely gmail's doing: none of the other MUAs I've used with the account in question have ever behaved this way (nor am I more inclined to wait until all messages are sent before deleting messages with those MUAs - Apple Mail, Sylpheed, Thunderbird).

Thoughts?

R.
