[kdepim-users] font rendering errors running kmail on gnome

Gene, have you tried: in KMail go to "Settings", then "configure" and
then "Appearance" and then tick the "use custom fonts" box. Then you can
set whatever fonts you wish and that should sort your problem unless you
have some kind of system problem. I have used various fonts, was a big
fan of DejaVu for a while but now use Oxygen Sans
