This was a new command to me, so of course I had to try it. And I get the
impression that my kde install is broken several ways. The output is
quite voluminous with a pipe to less in order to read it all needed.
First, before it even opens the pipe to less, I get this:
gene at coyote:~$ ktraderclient --mimetype application/pdf|less
ktraderclient(15037)/kdecore (services) KServicePrivate::property: Request
for unknown property ' "Caption" '

But after running it once with sudo that is gone, and less then shows me
this, clipped to choice 0:
mimetype is : application/pdf
got 6 offers.

All 6 of the "offers" have the same general blathering about "Invalid
Property"
I installed enough kde to get kmail on the server version of ubuntu
10.04.4 LTS, and am stuck with that for compatibility reasons with the
other 2 main machines on my local net, so the only major thing is I'm
running a home made version of 3.16.0 for the kernel.
Other than this kernel being built with PAE and not RTAI, the only thing I
lost from the installed and pinned kernel, is the ability to run LinuxCNC
in the realtime mode, only simulations now run here. The advantage of
this kernel is that I am not a gigabyte into swap in 36 hrs uptime since
it does see all 8Gb of ram.
That, and in kmail 1.13.5, the "sticky' checkboxes don't mean a thing, it
still picks all of those sending mail options at random and I am forced to
check that all of that stuff is correct before hitting send.
Is there anything I can do to fix these 2 problems?
Thanks.
Cheers, Gene Heskett
