[kdepim-users] kmail upgrade lost messages

Hello
My system recently got an upgrade. I am using Opensue and kmail is not
working properly. I got an error message saying  resource kmail flders is
broken. When I opened settings  and tried to modify the local folder I saw
another message that says "unable to create maildir".
I really need my old messages back. I am new to Linux and I have no idea
whats gong on. I also donot know where the maildir folder is located or how
to search for it/
