[kdepim-users] "compact folder"

Whatever happened to the ability to compact a folder? I have a couple IMAP 
accounts that I occasionally delete messages in, and when I delete 'em, they 
are gone from the message list, but then when I eventually get around to 
downloading the messages via POP, they are there again. I'd really like to be 
able to permanently delete, even if it means having to manually "compact" my 
IMAP folders. I noticed it appears to be gone in KMAIL2. Was that option 
removed for a reason???
