Well, I just wanted to point out the state of affairs.

KMail2 is on its 4th or 5th version since release if not more and some 
things are actually getting worse rather than better. If this is due to 
akonadi, nepomuk or what else I have no idea.

But I DO remember that one reason for delaying the switch from "old" 
KMail to akonadibased was that we should not lose mail. And whether I 
can find it as maildir file in HOME/.local/share/.somewhere or not when 
I can not see it when using the mailclient software makes little difference.

I do not like to rant but to me loss, or at least inability to show, the 
most important part of an email client - that is the mails - are not 
good at all. And to me this has not happened before 4.8.x
