Hi Stan,

You missunderstand the concept of Akonadi and Kmail a bit. First of all, there 
is only one way how the new kmail works with mail storage and that is akonadi.
What you see in the first screen are just physical locations of emails on your 
computer, that the kmail accesses throuhg aconadi.
When you click on add, then you can actually setup one of the ways how these 
physical locations can be filled with new email.
So please choose POP or IMAP from the menu after you clicked add and then 
configure normally new account.ň
