Well, version 4.9 is NOT available in my OpenSuSe repos yet, and I understand
it won't be available until OpenSuSe 12.3, so it's not a lot of use to me. I
have not had great experiences installing newer versions than those supplied
by my OS.

What problem? KDE3 is alive and well, and is expected to be so for a long
time.

Those are exactly the sort of reasons why I will keep trying newer versions of
KDE4, but suspect I will prefer KDE3 versions of KDEPIM. I really like both
OpenSuSe and KDE4 in general, which is why I'm sticking to them and will keep
trying the new versions of KDEPIM, so I'm hopeful.
