[kdepim-users] E-mail select box

In KAddressBook, whenever I try to look up a new card, the program 
insists on asking me which E-mail address I want to use on the old card. 
  It insists that I answer this question twice or more before it will 
leave the old card and go to a new one.

I have the program running on three Ubuntu installations, and the 
behavior is only apparent on one, but I cannot find any way to turn it off.

Suggestions?
