Ingo,
Not meant to annoy you - but obviously did.
I think the difference here is that many of us see this feature as one that will give KMail wider appeal - although (like me) they virtually never use it.
See this list for people who cannot use KMail just because it doesn't have this feature.
Others, who radically object to HTML email see it as some kind of betrayal of principles or something - although statistics and examples of just how dangerous it is seem hard to come by.
As always, the doomsayers prevail and seem to have set the tone that it is an unpopular / should never be done feature.
In fact all it really does it stop people migrating to KMail; as soon as newcomers see it isn't there - they move on - and KMail / KDE and the community have gained what exactly?
And that's the shame of it - In all other respects it's a *great* email client - and not only that it is in constant development.
But, the tone set by the doomsayers and purists has determined how many developers take an interest in HTML email replies - looks like none.
That I think is the crux of the argument - and I'm sorry if you think that any of us are criticising developers - we're not.
Please remember, If we didn't care about KMail we wouldn't even be reading these lists - never mind writing and arguing on them.
Regards,
johnM
