I have never had reason to use (or to set up!) KWallet. Therefore, I
would assume that all settings are default settings.

To the best of my knowledge, none.

I do not have even KMail set to do automatic checks on anything! On the
other hand, if there is such a default setting, "ANYthing" COULD be
happening. On the other hand, if this is the case, I have a difficult
time understanding why other work that i do is not interrupted with
similar messages. This happens (always when) and (only when) I
shut-down the system -- which is at VERY IR-regular intervals!!!
You ask some excellent questions, Martin -- I only wish that i had some
equally-good answers for you!
