[kdepim-users] Puzzling listing of kmail directory

I'm in the process of moving to KMail, and I've pulled in a few
archives of mail messages that I need to keep from old instances of
other mailers. I've got these in folders numbered set1 through set10,
and I can access the full tree beneath those folders without any
problem.

What has me baffled is that I was intending to move the whole kmail
directory onto a different drive (it's getting a bit large, I'm
running out of space below /home) and point a symlink at it, but I did
a directory listing of ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail before moving it,
and this was the result

Huh? set3 -> set10 (set 5 was empty, I know it's missing) as zero
length files, and not a directory? I even renamed set4 within KMail
and did a file search on the entire tree to make sure I was looking at
the right directory. Yep, this really is where the data is,
/home/brian/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail, and yes, I AM sure I can
access the folders below set3 -> set10 without any problem in KMail.

This is KMail 1.9.9 under KDE 3.5.9 (Mandriva 2008) if that makes any
difference.

As above, things are still working. I'm just puzzled by the directory
listing. Anyone able to explain it to me?

Thanks,

Brian.
