ok, well, it didn't take long for it to fail.. now, lpstat -t shows:


and a google search turned up a NUMBER of hits, but I'm not sure I have a good 
answer. here is the command and output
$ lpstat -t

but I do have the pipslite package installed:

SO, I am still at a loss.. looks like this printer just falls asleep and can't 
get woken up ( awakened?).. Epson R380..
