Yes, in Settings > Configure KMail > Misc you need to set 'Loop in all
folders'. I don't use the key navigation as you do, but spacebar scrolls
down messages one screen at a time, then goes to the next unread message.
With this setting it will also jump to the next folder with unread messages.
