the problem is that the (interation to the next) stable version surprisingly 
had an important feature removed. Your "new" feature replaces part of the old 
and missed functionality. So the removal of the old feature in a TLS version 
is a major defect from the usage perspective.

(I understand that you are not a KDEPIM developer so extra thanks for 
developing a replacement for a part of the removed feature! :) )
