It is a bit contradictory to want to use a "stable LTS version" (which means no
new features) and then ask for a new feature to be added to it. I know it's
frustrating because that new feature is needed to fix a regression, but it *is*
a new feature. I think it's even slightly buggy, it shows the same description
twice, in some cases. Not great for a stable LTS version.
I am not really part of the KDEPIM development team. I implemented this because
I needed it. But it probably needs some polish, and it's definitely too much of
a new feature to backport to a stable version (where the main promise is "no
new features").
You apply the patch to your RPMs though, that's not very hard with zypper si
and rpmbuild.
