Because of Bug374925 I regularly check the directories where I move or copy
mails and thus can partially confirm this behaviour. All mails - read or unread
- end up in the   new subdirectory and stay there. Always move them by hand.
Maybe that is why I do not experience the crashes when deleting mails?

But mails that directly arrive to the inbox are moved from new to cur after
being read. Once in cur no mail ever gets moved back to new, even if I mark
them unread again.
