Using kde-pim master from git self compiled
(48ffdb6bd03ff040366fb96afea49065021a7bfc)
I was just loggin in, then the "reminders" dialog popped up but showed
three events which were already yesterday.

See attached screenshot.
E.g. the first one in this list is a single event from 20.4.2017 19:00-20:00
with a single reminder set to display a dialog 1 hour before event starts
