I can almost always re-create the problem when I quit KMail - the Akonadi
IMAP-processes remain running which actually also keep kmail process alive.
When I kill KMail and re-launch it, the new kmail seems not to be able to
communicate with Akonadi anymore.

When I kill kmail and the imap-processes, re-launch KMail, it starts working
again.
