            Bug ID: 303348
          Severity: critical
           Version: 4.8
          Priority: NOR
          Assignee: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
Summary: Mail copy of folders from Local to IMAP very bogus
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: Linux
          Reporter: dyle at dyle.org
          Hardware: Other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
         Component: general
           Product: Akonadi

I tried copying a list of folders from my Local account to my remote IMAP.

Simply put: this functionality is fully broken. Sometimes mails are copies,
sometimes not. I can't rely on Akonadi/KMail. KMail/Akonadi state it has copied
mails but as I observed no whatsoever network traffic, I got suspicious and
checked the maildir folders on the IMAP server ... and there were some folders,
some not. It seems that AKonadi/KMail stopped copying at a certain point.

However, the local Akonadi resources still claims, that these emails are on the
server. KMail shows me all "copied" emails in full detail. But when I get on
the Mail server via Webmail, there is nothing.

Clicking on "Update folder and its subfolders" does produce exactly 0 output
and does not change anything. Re-copying the emails fails, since Akondai/KMail
state that there are emails there (which they are not).

Imaging copying the emails from my Local Account to the IMAP and then deleting
the local mails. This will result in a LOSS OF USER DATA!

I can't believe that this Akonadi implementation is that broke! I mean, it has
been introduced way back in KDE 4.6!

That is a very pitty, since KMail has been an extraordinary cool and excellent
email client. KMail2 is ... uhm ... "shiny" and leaves all competitors way
beyond, if it had a working Akonadi backend. :(

Man, I could cry.

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
KMail does copy some emails/folders some not. Though it claims all have been
copied quite a list has not.

Expected Results:
Simply keep up-to-date with the IMAP server: show what HAS been copied with
respect to the values derived from the IMAP server AND NOT from the Akonadi
bogus cache ... and ... btw: simply copy ALL emails on the server.
