I've just heard back from Tim.  He has not yet subscribed to this bug as
he is swamped getting Trinity (KDE) 3.5.12 out the door.  He said he
will need to wait until early next month.  In the meantime, I think it
would be wise for anyone with input to contribute to the spec page he
put up. I referenced it a couple of comments ago - John
