If it means anything, I am the original reporter of this bug.

Previous to reporting this bug, I had complaints about the total lack of HTML
ability in Kmail - I have clients who use HTML as their way of using bold or
colours in replies instead of the standard > and >> and >>>'s. It was
frustrating to me that I could not reply to an email in the same way a client
had responded to mine.

I brought up the issue and someone emailed me privately and asked if I was
willing to pay for HTML ability in Kmail. They quoted me a price, and I paid
for it. And then, HTML was available in Kmail - except it was useless because
it did not work for replies to HTML email.

So, I'm leery. I'm willing to contribute money - as I have for HTML ability in
the first place and to other KDE development in general - but - if I'm going to
do it again, it has to work. It has to work going forward too.

I'm willing to contribute - but I need to hear from a lead developer that there
is going to be cooperation - that further development on Kmail will absolutely
include any HTML abilities that I'm paying for.

What I paid for several years ago is now broken even more than what I thought I
was paying for. I'm not paying for something again, that I have no reassurances
will not break again in the future.

The spec has to say that the KDE developvers will view the patch as important,
and future development will include this patch, and not break it, or will fix
it to comply with any future releases so that it is a standard in Kmail.

They can't just introduce some new feature or change, and break this patch and
go "uh oh.... oh well..."

If we can get some idea from a lead KDE developer that this is important to
them, and a committment that if done, it will remain an important integral
part, then I will commit some bucks to this.
