Summary: Incorrect handling of resources on IMAP server via
                    KMail groupware
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.12.4
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: cheepeero at gmx.net

Version: 1.12.4 (using 4.3.5 (KDE 4.3.5), Gentoo)
Compiler: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31-gentoo-r10

So... I have an IMAP server (courier-imap) and more computers. I want the same
contacts on all.

After a few days of trying to set up KMail's groupware server I came to the
following conclusions:

1. KMail is unable to use more root IMAP folders, althoug the UI allows it's
creation. The reason could be described here:
http://www.courier-mta.org/FAQ.html#namespace

2. KMail is unable to use other folders than the root folders for GroupWare
resources (i.e. select MyImap/inbox as groupware folder path). If presented
with a folder like MyImapAccount/inbox/MyGroupwareFolder KMail silently fails
by not creating necessary subfolders (Contacts, Calendar etc.), which further
leads in KAddressBook to a peculiar error about no writable resources being
available. Trying to create other root folders is not possible (see 1).

I believe the above two are bugs and should be fixed either by (a) allowing
subfolders of inbox to be GroupWare containers (b) not allowing users to select
subfolders of inbox as groupware root.
