What I was doing when the application crashed:
I had saved a draft of an email, not much there.  I then saved it as a patch
file in /tmp.  when I tried to view the email again from the draft folder Kmail
became unresponsive.  I killed it and when it came back the email was still in
the draft folder, but I couldn't view it.  I went to delete it, and after many
unsuccessful tries kmail eventually cored.
