Summary: Akregator does not remember position in different feeds
Product: kontact
Version: unspecified
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: bugs.kde.org at sjau.ch
Version: (using KDE 4.1.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
I changed my default order from "top (=newest) to bottom (=oldest)" entries to
"top (=oldest) to bottom (=newest)" entries. The reason for that is that I
sometimes accidentally click on the sort columns. So I hope to circumvent that
when the new feeds are on the bottom.
The problem however is, that Akregator does not remember it's specific position
within the single feeds but it uses the position of the previous one.
I can show this best with an example.
In this screenshot I scrolled totally down The Register feed to the bottom:
http://www.sjau.ch/kbug_akregator/akregator1.png
Then I changed to the symlink.ch one:
http://www.sjau.ch/kbug_akregator/akregator2.png
As you can see, this feed is also at the bottom. That's because Akregator still
remembers the entry from the previous (The Register) feed. As The Register has
over 600 entries and symlink.ch only just about 50 entries, it is therefore
scrolled to the bottom.
However when I now change back to The Register I get this here:
http://www.sjau.ch/kbug_akregator/akregator3.png
Now, again Akregator remembers the position from the previous feed (# 53) and
it shows that one highlighted, instead of the one I had selected when I left
this feed before.
So, as solution/change/feature request I see three options:
(1) Add a function that can enable/disable the sorting columns on request;
(2) automatically jump to the newest entries when changing a feed; or
(3) remember at what position each feed was when it is being changed to another
one.
