Summary: Question where to store passwords has misleading
confirmation buttons
Product: kmail
Version: 1.10.1
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
ReportedBy: richih-kde at richih.org
Version: 1.10.1 (using 4.1.1 (KDE 4.1.1), Debian packages)
Compiler: cc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.26-1-686
I am filing as bug as this can lead to wrong storage.
I don't know the exact wording by heart, but basically, you are asked 'KWallet
is not available, should KMail store the password in its own config files?'
You get 'Store password' and 'Do not store password' as options which is not
ideal. I just clicked 'Store password' by accident and will now need to hunt
down the option to use KWallet again.
By the way, KMail of KDE3 used to wait forever for KWallet to open, which
changed. This is, in my opinion, a Very Bad Thing (which I will file a wishlist
against now).
