Kontact/Korganizer crashed on me at startup after I had generated a TODO-Item from an Email with a big attachement. I could fix it by manually removing the corresponding item from .kde/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics.

The item was created by left-clicking the email, then selecting "New Task...".In the std.ics, it looked like this (it is anonymized/shortened):
