Summary: [Usability] Opening mails needs some kind of progress or
                    activity indicator
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
        ReportedBy: patrick dreker de

Version: (using KDE 3.5.9)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I use kmail/kontact and have the message preview pane disabled, so I have to doubleclick any message to view it. As some message take several seconds to open (IMAP w/ large attachments or GPG signed mail e.g.) and others open in a split second this needs some kind of progress or activity indicator.

If one doubleclicks a mail which takes some seconds to open, there is no indication, that kmail is actually doing anything (aside from freezing the UI ;-) ) so if ine is in a hurry one might doubleclick again in the assumption that one simply botched the doubleclick, just to have the message pop up twice, as the second click is buffered...
