Kevin, I actually agree with much of what you have said.  However, being abusive is not very constructive ;-)

We have to remember that much of FOSS development is done on a voluntary basis so if developers choose to work on something else then that is their prerogative.

As a user, I am very grateful to the developers for giving me an alternative to MS domination.  I haven't got the technical ability to program but I can, and do, help by requesting features, identifying bugs and supporting other users.

However, I realise that the "community" are under no obligation to provide me with exactly the features I require.  I can always choose another application!

So, if you are able to program then I am sure the KDE team would welcome your help.
