Can we just get over this discussion about whether somebody thinks it is a good idea or not? Reading the above posts, it boils down to the following:

Is there a need for this? Check. Comments illustrate that this function is used in many businesses, and can be considered necessary for corresponding with clients (mine included).

Is it possible? Check. Other mail clients (open and otherwise) already support it.

So can we please move on to a more productive talk, mainly on HOW to implement it in a useful way?
