I have never seen the battery meter roam off the task list.  Usually the wallet stays but I think once I saw that off the system tray.  Also I think the clipboard applet has always been on the tray.  I know that the kmix applet, kget, korganizer, knotes, and the kontact icons have all floated out on the desktop at times.  

Understand I will likely be slow if you need additional updates, I am extremely busy at work these last few weeks so only get to my personal inbox about once a week.
