Cannot render to file in 18.04.1

I seem to have resolved it in my own rather fumbling sort of way by 
doing a sudo apt install kdenlive from the repository. I guess that has 
brought in the necessary dependencies. I wouldn't have thought the 
appimage would need them though? But I know nothing! :)
