[kdenlive] Snap packages & Kdenlive on Ubuntu 16.04 (and other LTS)?

Mark Shuttleworth, founder of Canonical, just sent this article along on
Google+ - http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2016/04/ubuntu-16-04-lts-snap-packages.

If I understand it correctly, it sounds like current versions of apps
can be available for LTS releases of Ubuntu without the worry about
outdated dependencies.

If this is the case, wouldn't this be a good idea to use for Kdenlive
for Ubuntu-LTS-based distros? Is it viable?
