[Kdenlive-devel] Issues with MLT's SDL module not found

Hi all
I am running Ubuntu 11.10 and I installed K D Enlive and when I open it I
get the following error message

Fatal Error

MLT's SDL module not found. Please check your MLT Install. Kdenlive will
not work unless this issue is fixed.

What I need is step by step instructions on how to rectify this
