there should be, even if at the moment kdenlive doesn't do it (you could 
install mlt 0.whatever and it wouldn't complain); instead, it checks for it in 
the config wizard (i believe this should be changed, for is cause of quite a 
number of problems on irc - people with a prehistoric mlt which simply doesn't 
run the wizard and then doesn't know that)
anyway, i think i can implement that. well, i can check for mlt 0.4.5, which 
is ok since this is the first commit after release, but i could not check - 
easily - against a git revision (not even understand how git names revisions!)
