[Kdenlive-devel] MLT rendering to several profiles

Hello,

Dan's solution implementing export to different profiles seems to suit
users needs: http://www.kdenlive.org/mantis/view.php?id=323

Here is what Dan writes:

************************************************
$ inigo consumer:project.kdenlive profile=<project-profile> -consumer
avformat:foo profile=<render-profile> ...

where properties after <render-profile> can override the render
profile's properties, as usual.

Just to be clear, the results are just like rendering to a lossless file
with project-profile setttings, and then encoding that using
render-profile settings, plus overrides. Except, it is all virtualized,
of course. That means it is entirely possible to have black completely
surrounding your picture much like what can happen in broadcast TV on
widescreen displays. If you place a widescreen video onto a 4:3 project,
it is letterboxed. Then, if you render that letterboxed 4:3 project to a
widescreen encoding, it automatically pillarboxes the 4:3 project onto
the widescreen.
************************************************

How coud it be implemented in today's Kdenlive rendering dialog or shall
we wait for Kdenlive next rendering dialog?

Kind regards,
Jean-Michel
