Ok, I made a few tests and have successfully replaced the FFmpeg capture with 
recordmydesktop. I now need to rewrite the settings dialog to allow 
customization of recordmydesktop parameters.

I won't have much time this week-end, but I think I should be able to commit a 
version with basic parameters in the next 3 days.

Jmpoure, since you have some experience whith recordmydesktop, could you 
please send me a list of the useful parameters that should be adjustable with 
nice default values ?
