Yes, I agree that a short release cycle would be great. Christmas seems very
reasonable for a 0.7.1 release.

The feature I would like to implement for 0.7.1 are:

* Select on which track the transition will be applied
http://www.kdenlive.org:80/mantis/view.php?id=273

* "Sticky" transitions: allow user to "attach" a transition to a clip, then
the transition will move with the clip. Detaching transition would also be
possible

* Implement the Project folder stuff (store all files relative to a project in
the project folder)

* Cache video thumbnails for project tree

* Improve keyframe support (maybe add a keyframe editor), make all frei0r
effects keyframable
http://www.kdenlive.org:80/mantis/view.php?id=273

* Redesign the render dialog, more intuitive way for users to understand the
difference between project profile and rendering profiles
http://www.kdenlive.org:80/mantis/view.php?id=323

* Spacer tool
http://www.kdenlive.org:80/mantis/view.php?id=271

* Add / remove tracks
http://www.kdenlive.org:80/mantis/view.php?id=272

* Maybe also: Full screen playback mode for clip/project monitor
http://www.kdenlive.org:80/mantis/view.php?id=325

And of course fiy as many bugs as possible. That's a rather long list, so
depending on the progress the last two items may be postponed

regards
