Exactly the same problems here!
I've build kdenlive, mlt and mlt++ from actual cvs/svn minutes ago. For mlt 
and mlt++ i used "./configure --prefix=/usr/".
For kdenlive it was "./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3"
When i start kdenlive there is the obove mentioned question about MLT 
installation. I typed "/usr/" as path but it doesnt work for me :(
 
Any workaround available?
