first: hello all *waves hand* I'm new, found out about kdenlive yesterday, and
think it looks promising. I want to edit MJPEG movies from my camera. Thanks
for all the great work put into it.
Now, my question. I'm using Ubuntu, tried the 'klik' file, tried the Debian
sarge (or sid, what is it) .deb from Marillat (which is the same as klik
used; extracted and ran kdenlive, and it ran - installing wouldn't work
because of failed dependencies), both were unable to import video (MJPEG,
XviD, didn't matter). The latter, which I ran by command line gave an
libavformat.so.50 error. So I decided to compile the svn version. Same. I
compiled&installed ffmpeg from svn, compiled&installed mlt and mlt++ 0.2.2
from tarball, did a make clean on kdenlive, re-bootstrap, re-configure and
re-make: same problem. This is the output:
kdenlive: Mlt inited
kdenlive: +++++++++++ Generating scenelist start... ++++++++++++++++++
kdenlive: Creating new document
kdenlive: deleting contents...
kdenlive: **************** INIT DOCUMENT VIEW ***************
kdenlive: *** DOCUMENT adding clip: Color Clip

such file or directory
Failed to load plugin: libavformat.so.50: cannot open shared object file: No

KCrash: Application 'kdenlive' crashing...
I *have* libavformat-dev installed, and the wanted file is somewhere on my
harddisk:
$ locate libavformat.so.50
/usr/olib/0.2.0/lib/libavformat.so.50.4.0
/usr/olib/0.2.0/lib/libavformat.so.50
Symlinking it to the directory whereout I run kdenlive doesn't work. Googling
didn't work. So... !!!HELP!!! :-)
Anyone else having this problem, or knowing how to fix? Would be a good one
for the still empty 'install problems' too, I guess..
Thanks in advance.
Ronald
