From looking at this, I am wondering if kde-config is reporting the wrong 
prefix on your distro.

Try this line on configure :

./configure --prefix=/usr/share/debian-edu/common

(you might want to do a make uninstall first to clean up the old kdenlive 
install)

then make/make install and see if that works.
