I can fully understand the point for a live distro after I tried to get mythTV 
running on my box. the live KnoppMyth ran without problems while the normal 
installation/configuration cost me many hours. The live-distros cover up for 
crappy and over-complicated installation procedures. missing documentation. 
wrong documentation. crappy and missing setup scripts and dialogs.
Read the recent ESR article "The Luxury of Ignorance" for that.

Of course, IMHO, people should, the f*&ck, fix their 
config/setup/docu/help/faq/gui and don't make live CDs.

No pun intended for any specific LiveCD authour (except for my recent 
frustration with KnoppMyth :)
