It's OK !!! You can just change the XML variant version in the docbook file. I 
have checked this with KDE 3.0.5 (MDK 9.0) and KDE 3.1.0 (MDK 9.1 RC2)...

New : 

<!DOCTYPE book PUBLIC "-//KDE//DTD DocBook XML V4.1.2-Based Variant V1.0//EN" 
"dtd/kdex.dtd" [

Let V4.1.2 XML version in this line. It's compatible between KDE 3.0.x and KDE 
3.1.x.
