will contributers have to reassign their copyrights to KDE e.V. similar to the
way it is done in GNU?

How will the GFDL allow KDE e.V. to choose the company who will print the
book? Why would that company have to give away free books?

If the deciding factor for choosing the GFDL over the GPL is getting a free
copy of your book, I am willing to put money for one or two copies into a
pool to get free copies for the main contributors. Alex (a.k.a. suy) offered
something similar on 2003-07-18. Maybe there are others who would be willing
to contribute.
