Hi Daniel,
I agree this doesn't seem to belong to KDE Connect. We could use it to
provide the lighting value to compensate for the laptops that don't have
light sensors (some do).
Overall this feels more like a workaround rather than a solution to a
problem. A problem that exists though, I too have a laptop without this
sensor and I saw myself looking for how to detect lighting.

As for the final control, it should at least use UPower dbus interface
instead of xbacklight.

If you want to look into doing this properly, maybe reaching out to Richard
and asking how he'd do this could be interesting.
