KDE Connect fails to connect

Hi Sudhir,

Thanks for your interest. There is a known bug on Android Oreo that we've been unable to fix
so far :-( That might be related, but we'll see.

You can try to create logs, and see if the connection loss/reconnect is reproducable somehow.

Creating a log on android: connect your phone with usb, and run "adb logcat > log.txt" on the
desktop. That'll create a somewhat large log, so try (if possible) to only include the connection
+ connection loss parts.

On the desktop, you can kill the "kdeconnectd" process and start "/usr/lib/kdeconnectd"
yourself (might be in another location on your distribution), and log that data too.

For reproduction: can you at least check if the connection loss/reconnection has to do with
screen on/off?

Let's start with this, and see if we get some stuff to check!

Kind regards, Matthijs Tijink

Hello,

For past couple of months, KDE Connection between my system and my device is not stable.
It connects and disconnects on its own. My setup has not changed for a while.

What are some ways I can watch the traffic or troubleshoot to pin-point the issue?

I am using Fedora 28 on a Precision 5510 and a Google Pixel phone currently running Android
P but the issues existed on Fedora 27 and Android 8/8.1.

I can debug the Android side of things if there were any points as to what to look for.

Regards,
Sudhir.
