KDE4 build questions

Hello KDE Connect dev community!
I'm a beginner at this although I have a bit of experience in Java, 
Python, Perl and some slightly older languages.
But not with cmake...

I'm trying to build kdeconnect-kde on Kubuntu 14.04 (Qt 4.8.6 KDE 
4.13.3). I grabbed the source via
git clone git://anongit.kde.org/kdeconnect-kde.git
But I'm getting cmake errors:

Could not find a package configuration file provided by "ECM" (requested
version 0.0.9) with any of the following names:
     ECMConfig.cmake
     ecm-config.cmake

There's no package matching ECM in the repositories and a web search 
suggests it's a KDE 5 thing.

What should I be looking at to resolve this?
