Years later, kmail still is not a viable email client?

I need a good email client and none of the things besides that akonadi is
entagled with.  Trying to do everything at once in the same software has
traditionally always been a bad idea.  Kmail is so bad that you can't even
remove and reconfigure it again because it's settings are all over the place
and have become unremoveable --- unless I were to delete my whole home directory,
which is not an option.  And if you want to use it, it simply becomes broken
beyond repair sooner or later.

So no, kmail is still not a viable email client.
